Our Story
Henllys Village Nursery is a family run nursery located in Henllys Village Cwmbran, owned and administered by the Baxter family.
The nursery opened in 1994 in the old village school, at one time the cornerstone of the village. The nursery is in a beautiful rural setting on the quiet fringe of Henllys Village. It is surrounded by idyllic scenery in two acres of grounds.
The children have access to secure play areas surrounded by a butterfly meadow and mountain scenery.
The Nursery is also a Forest School, this gives the children the opportunity to learn about the natural environment.
The well qualified and experienced staff provide the children with a warm, safe homely atmosphere for them to enjoy learning through play and structured activities.
About Us
Henllys Village Nursery is a private day care nursery and wrap around facility.
We provide care for up to 74 children. We are registered by the Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) for full or part-time care between 7.30am and 6pm, Monday to Friday. We are open all year except for Bank Holidays.
Our nursery provides care for children aged 0-5 years, with our breakfast/after school/holiday clubs providing care for 4-12 years.
We have a breakfast club, after-school club and full wrap around during the day from our neighbouring schools. We also operate a holiday club which can provide care for your child during the 12 weeks of school holidays.
We are registered providers of Preschool education for Torfaen County Borough Council and inspected by ESTYN as we deliver a comprehensive nursery curriculum based on the Foundation Phase.
We are affiliated with National Day Nurseries Association and the Local Safeguarding Children Board
We hold a Quality for All quality assurance award and a Gold Award for Healthy Snacks.
As education providers, children in the Pre-school group will be provided with government funding the first term after their third birthday.
Henllys Village Nursery offer 30 hours free childcare for eligible 3 and 4-year-old children. We also have separate rooms for our younger age groups that include, babies, toddlers and middles.

Outdoor Play
We're very fortunate here at Henllys Nursery. Due to our unique 'countryside' location, we have unmatched outdoor play areas. Our safe rear garden and field enables our children to experience nature at its best. Our large decked area, complete with roof, also enables our children to play outside, even in inclement weather.
Indoor Play
We have separate rooms for all of our age groups. These are 'Babies', 'Toddlers, 'Middles' and Pre-School'. As each age group has there own room, their education and play can be far more specific.
Imaginative Play
Imaginative play is essential for a child's development. We have various play areas and extensive resources to provide opportunities for our children to identify with the adult world.
It helps with their social and language skills, emotional development and encourages imagination.
